Wizarding World that was invented by HBO is returning to the Muggles world, this time as an upcoming TV show and the excitement is already in full swing.
The first image of the forthcoming Harry Potter series was released by HBO on July 14, 2025 where Dominic McLaughlin was presented as the brand new Harry Potter, who was earlier performed in the role of Daniel Radcliffe. He is wearing the brand-new outfit, Gryffindor outfit, signature round glasses. On to that, he sports the famous lightning-shaped scar.
The production for the Harry Potter series had started in July and was taking place in Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden in England which is where the films were shot previously. The show will air through HBO and Max early in 2027.
It is also the 30th anniversary in the very first Harry Potter book. The book will be reviewed throughout the seasons, and will include more time spent discussing the characters as well as stories which were cut out or reduced in the films.
New Harry Potter Series Cast
The show features Dominic McLaughlin as Harry Potter, Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger, and Alastair Saintout in the role of Ron Weasley. The cast includes John Lithgow as Dumbledore, Nick Frost as Hagrid, Janet McTeer as Professor McGonagall as well as Paapa Essiedu playing Snape are also well-known. Other notable characters include Rory Wilmot as the character like Neville Longbottom, Amos Kitson as Dudley Dursley, Louise Brealey as Madam Hooch as Madam Hooch, as well as Anton Lesser as Ollivander. The actors in the cast is composed of veterans and new actors.
The project is overseen by Francesca Gardiner, who is an executive producer on the production side. A Succession director, like Mark Mylod, is not just directing a couple of episodes but also acts as the executive producer. J.K. Rowling is an executive producer for the show. She has described the two initial scripts as “SO, SO, SO GOOD!” While there are some fans who is thrilled about her involvement, HBO cannot leave her in the dust, since she is very involved with the plot.

Since each season of this series is planned to be based on just one novel this will allow viewers to get lost into the magical world in a deeper way. Fans will be presented with a greater understanding about the world of Harry starting with his childhood in the closet beneath the stairs, all the way through to Hogwarts.
