The film was originally scheduled to release on on the 25th July of 2025 The film was later postponed until the 1st of August in 2025 in order to avoid clashing with other films .

- Ajay Devgn is back with the character Jaswinder “Jassi” Singh Randhawa who is the protagonist of the series.
- Mrunal Thakur is Rabia as the female lead.
- Ravi Kishan steps into the role of Raja and replaces Sanjay Dutt in the UK shoot. However, Dutt remains in Indian parts.
- Sanjay Mishra replaces Vijay Raaz as comic relief in the support lineup .

Production & Shooting
The filming began in July 2024. It covered various locations like Edinburgh, London, Firth of Forth and then Punjab as well as Chandigarh to India. The principal photography took approximately fifty days across the UK.
Casting changes were made when Sanjay Dutt had visa issues for the UK schedule. He was replaced with Ravi Kishan for those scenes but he continues to appear in Indian filming. The actor Vijay Raaz was apparently exiled from the film due to disputes over conduct on the set. Cinematography is overseen by Aseem Bajaj and editing is handled directed by Ninad Khanolkar Screenplay is written created by Jagdeep Sidhu and Mohit Jain.
OTT Platform
Following its theatrical release, Son of Sardaar 2 will be available exclusively through Netflix. According to industry sources, there is a possibility of that a digital release will take place 6-8 weeks after movie release, putting it between mid-October and early October 2025.
The film is packed with laughter, action, and Punjabi taste, which is set to be released in cinemas in the week of the 1st of August in 2025 and will be available via Netflix within a few days. With a stellar actor, energetic music and authentic locations ranging from Scotland’s streets to Punjab’s capital city, it’s set to deliver the same experience of a larger-than-life scale that made the first film a popular choice for audiences.
