Theatrical and OTT Release
Ambajipeta Marriage Band released across Indian cinemas on February 2nd, 2024. The film was highly praised for its heartfelt village-based story and stunning performances. After its theatrical release, the film was purchased by Aha to stream digitally. From the 1st of March 2024, the film began streaming through Aha Video.
Cast and Characters
The main focus of the story is Malli who is played by Suhas who is a barber who works for the local wedding bands in Ambajipeta village. The principal role in the film, well, Sharanya Pradeep plays his twin sister Padma and Shivani Nagaram is Malli’s childhood love Lakshmi.
Other major roles also include Goparaju Ramana as the band head and Jagadeesh Prathap Bandari, Malli’s closest friend. Nithin Prasanna plays Venkata Babu, who’s relationship with Padma becomes the primary tension in the story.
Director and Team Behind the Film
The film marks the debut for Dushyanth Katikaneni who created the story. Production was handled by Dheeraj Mogilineni as well as Venkat Reddy. They are part of GA2 Pictures, Dheeraj Mogilineni Entertainment as well as Mahayana Motion Pictures.
The technical team included Wajid Baig in cinematography, Kodati Pavan Kalyan editing as well as Shekar Chandra who composed the music.
Storyline
The film is set in the village of Ambajipeta located in Andhra Pradesh, the film tells the story of twins Malli as well as Padma. Malli is a member of a wedding band and hopes to marry Lakshmi the girl he was in high school with. Then her life gets complicated due to rumors about her and Lakshmi’s brother Venkata Babu. It was immediately followed by the signing of a streaming rights agreement with Aha which was a great success for the film since more people can experience the work of the first-time director Dushyanth Katikaneni.
